Mosquito Lagoon, Orlando, New Smyrna Beach & Daytona Beach Fishing
Join Captain Mike Mann, a veteran New Smyrna Beach fishing guide with over twenty years of guiding experience, for an unforgettable day of great fishing and spectacular beauty in the Mosquito Lagoon.
Located just one hour east of Orlando and twenty minutes south of Daytona Beach is the Mosquito Lagoon. The Lagoon offers some of the best light tackle and fly fishing in Florida! Flats fishing for redfish, black drum, snook, and trout does not get any better than a guided fishing trip through these inshore waters. An angler can sight fish many species in the ultra shallow and clear waters year round, as well as finding “bucket list” tarpon in the summer months. Captain Mike can accommodate fly anglers or light tackle/artificial and live bait fishing.
The Mosquito Lagoon is part of the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge and the Canaveral National Seashore. It is one of the most ecologically diverse places left in the United States. Within the Lagoon, one can spot manatees, osprey, great blue herons, as well as dolphins and large schools of bull redfish in their natural habitat.
Near Shore Fishing
Near shore fishing, sometimes called beach fishing, is an excellent experience for a first timer or an old pro! Fishing within a mile of the beach, anglers can target tarpon, cobia, king fish, sharks, and many other species. As New Smyrna Beach is the Shark Bite Capital of the World, shark fishing here is always a fun time! Trips out to near shore reefs and fishing behind shrimp boats will offer an angler a wide variety of fish to catch.
