March fishing in mosquito lagoon2014
Spring is in the air and the water temps are coming up . We are at the cross over time when the reds and trout start to shift there feeding in the Daytona beach and new Smyrna waters from shrimp and crabs to finger mullet and other bait fish . Don’t get me wrong they usually won’t turn down a properly placed shrimp but they will also be chasing mullet baits such as a 5 in jerk bait or top water plug such as a skitter walk or z-man paddle tail or jerk bait . Water levels will be high and the sight casting in the back country flats can be awesome . We have a great year round fishery but spring time is one of my favorites .
